What do you find most interesting about your career and your leadership position?

I am enjoying working together with a lot of diverse and talented people and especially following and supporting them in their journey, setting a direction and achieve concrete results which make a difference.

What has been crucial to get you to where you are today?

I have always been very clear in my prioritization in what is important both at work and in my private life but also very keen on what makes me happy. The good collaboration with my superiors and mentors has been a key element through their inspiration and support for where I am today. Lastly my network has proven to be an important factor when it came to opportunities and to open new doors.

Tell us about a female role model and the impact they had on you – either personally or professionally?

I don’t have a specific female role model. A role model for me is not a specific person. It is more a type of people. I really get inspired, when I meet someone who is passionated, dedicated and where you can feel their energy. That inspires me to go out and learn new things and set new goals.

What advice would you give to young female students today?

Be ambitious and act. Don’t expect people will notice you, just because you are doing a great job. I once got a good advice from one of my mentors “The oranges do not fall into the turban by themselves – you will need to shake the tree or pick them yourself”. I have given that advice a lot of thoughts and it was also the main driver for applying for my first management position.

Looking into the future, what role do you think STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education will have?

I think these educations will be the future, as we need skilled people within these fields to stay competitive. Especially since the digital transformation globally, is at full speed.
