The Diversity Council CEO Committee at A.P. Moller – Maersk

At the Diversity Council CEO Committee in October 2024, co-hosted by Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller – Maersk, Maersk’s inclusive culture and transformation strategy was explored, positioning DE&I as central to the company’s business success.

Ingrid U. Snelderwaard, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at Maersk, presented findings and learnings from Maersk’s recent global inclusion survey. Insightful discussions followed by Johan Sigsgaard EVP, Chief Product Officer – Ocean, and Alaukika Singh, Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Partner, which illustrated Maersk’s proactive approach to inclusion through implementation of DEI Service Partners. Four effective techniques were shared: 1) Listening sessions 2) Being deliberate 3) Enacting the policies 4) Leadership circles.
TotalEnergies and Velux, two new members of the council were also warmly welcomed.

Above & Beyond CEO, Tine Arentsen Willumsen moderated a panel featuring Mette Louise Kaagaard, CEO of Microsoft Denmark and Iceland, and Lars Petersson, CEO of VELUX on how to they use inclusive leadership to drive meaningful change in their organisations. Various changes facing businesses today were raised, from consumer shifts and technology developments to the geopolitical upheaval and how diverse perspectives must be actively sought to solve these challenges. A particular spotlight was put on GenAI, which is exacerbating the gender gap. The Diversity Council agreed to investigate this issue further.
